Sandpipers seem to instinctively know when to move with the water. This wave crashed inches below, yet they did not move as if they knew exactly where the water was going to go.

The following video was shot on this very day and shows how well sandpipers move in unison. A hurricane brushed past Maine and while the skies were clear, the surf was incredibly high and attracted many onlookers.
