Autumn Light

The autumn light has a unique way to illuminate the fallen leaves – bright and often with a yellow or red hue. The evening sun filtered by passing clouds can give you a soft golden light that is only amplified by the colorful foliage it passes through.

There are many walking paths in Georgetown, Maine where you can stumble upon scenes like these, such as the Josephine Newman Sanctuary. While it’s beautiful any time of the year, autumn is when these paths truly come alive.

  1. Okay, you’ve won me over, now! Beautiful fall photo! If you’re patient enough, a doe and her fawn may cross your path as they pick and nibble at the blueberries. Stay to the right as the path leads to a broken rock wall at the edge of the water and you can observe the frogs, and the different birds feeding and nesting. I always stop at the Josephine Newman Sanctuary on my way home from the beach, at sunset…
